With it being November, you may start to feel a chill in the air. Maybe you need a hat. Or a scarf. So my friend Rain (of the wonderful Rain's Embellishments) managed to hook me up with some pictures of me doing the yarn spinning demo at Handmade Parade this past weekend.

If you’re in the Sacramento area, you might want to check out a big ol’ crafty extravaganza happening in town on Saturday, Oct. 13:

Handmade Parade promises to be a super-fun time for the whole family. About 30 vendors from Sacramento (including many from the Sacramento Craft Mafia and yours truly) and the Bay Area will be on hand with handmade wares!

There will also be several demos, including one on spinning your own yarn and one on making foam-printed notecards (presented by yours truly) and one on making your own jewelry (presented by Peptogirl Industries).

In other news, the Sacramento Craft Mafia also got some major pub on TV on Wednesday, appearing in several segments during Good Day Sacramento! You can watch the opening segment right here. (It’s called “Lisa takes on the Craft Mafia.”)

A full video of the entire segment — which was absolutely hysterical, by the way, and lots of fun to do! — should be available within a couple of weeks. In the meantime, do enjoy the snippet!

The Sacramento Craft Mafia presents its first-ever show, where you’re encouraged to get made … handmade!

This show will be at Willemina’s Restaurant and Bar in Old Sacramento on Sunday, June 24 from 2-10 p.m. If you’re in the area, please come and check it out.

Even if you can’t make it to the show, you can still support the Sacramento Craft Mafia by buying a little something from their Etsy shop. You’ll find some notebooks, and some buttons like these:

There are lots of fabulous indie stores out there and many directories and websites dedicated to helping you find them.

But what about indie shops that also offer you fabulous discounts?

That’s the purpose of the Totally Indie Coupons, a set of coupons jam-packed with all sorts of discounts at great stores. There are different rounds of coupons, and only a set number of stores are able to participate in each round.

The only way to get these coupons is to shop at participating stores, which usually include them with orders.

Rosebud Designs will be selling at Feria Urbana in San Francisco on Saturday, Oct. 28. Please come out if you're in the area! The event runs from noon to 5 p.m., and features many local designers.

Rosebud Designs has some items listed at Crafters For Critters! Some crocheted wallets, watter bottle holders and notecards are up for sale.

If you're not familiar with Crafters For Critters, it is an organization that donates proceeds from sales to all sorts of animal-friendly organizations. It's a terrific cause ... and you get to shop indie, too. You can't lose.

I've done some updating to the site, mainly in the "crafts" section. It's got more of a shop layout now, with four items available for custom orders and purchase.

I've been on a long hiatus (I've moved into a new house, had school, had a boatload of other things happen), so the shop and Rosebud Designs haven't seen much action in a while.

However, I am still around, and still making things here and there. In fact, I am setting up shop during a dance recital for a local studio where I dance; part of those proceeds will benefit the touring company and the studio.

I hope to be back online with more new things, including some greeting cards and bags, probably around the first week of July.

Yay, summer. Time to breathe. :)
